High annual fee, but well worth it for those frequent travelers who can get instant hotel status and airport lounge access. For many, the benefits will far outweigh the high annual fee. Benefits include earning 5x points on flights and prepaid hotels at AmexTravel.com, 2x points per dollar on eligible purchases of $5,000 or more (on up to $2 million of these purchases per calendar year), 2x points on purchases at US construction material and hardware suppliers, electronic goods retailers, software and cloud system providers and shipping providers. Also, you'll get up to $200 in Hilton statement credits per calendar year on eligible purchases (up to $50 per quarter) at Hilton properties when you enroll. (Gift cards are not an eligible purchase.)
With the "As High As" welcome offer from American Express, here’s how it works: First, apply for the card which will only trigger a soft credit inquiry - and if you're approved, you’ll find out your personalized offer amount. Then if you choose to proceed, simply accept the card with your offer (Note: If you’re approved and accept the Card, your credit score will be impacted at this point in the process). Finally, meet the required minimum spending amount based on your personalized offer within the specified number of months from opening your card, and you will earn a valuable welcome offer in the form of Membership Rewards® points. There are many additional money saving benefits with this card, with our favorite being the up to $200 in airline incidental fee credits. You'll also be eligible to receive up to $150 in statement credits annually for eligible Dell purchases and an additional $1,000 statement credit when you spend $5,000 on eligible Dell purchases (enrollment required), up to $209 back per year on your CLEAR+ membership (subject to auto-renewal) and up to $120 for TSA PreCheck® or Global Entry membership.
