This card has often been overlooked because of better options. However, it does offer some strong earning categories like 3x on travel and transit (including flights, hotels, taxis, and rideshares, 3x on dining (including worldwide), and 1x points on other purchases. The annual fee is not waived, but there are some perks like $209 CLEAR plus credit annually. Note: Enrollment may be required to receive benefits or credits.
With the "As High As" welcome offer from American Express, here’s how it works: First, apply for the card which will only trigger a soft credit inquiry—and if you're approved, you’ll find out your personalized offer amount. Then if you choose to proceed, simply accept the card with your offer (Note: If you’re approved and accept the Card, your credit score will be impacted at this point in the process). Finally, meet the required minimum spending amount based on your personalized offer within the specified number of months from opening your card, and you will earn a valuable welcome offer in the form of Membership Rewards® points.
