Why Travel Freely Likes It
For those eligible for a business credit card, this is an excellent option for IHG fans due to the many perks for solely being a cardmember. Cardmembers get automatic Platinum Elite status, an Anniversary Free Night each account year, their fourth night free when redeeming points for a consecutive four-night stay, and 15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year. There are also three annual credits: up to $100 in Food & Beverage Rewards at IHG properties, a $100 airline statement credit on qualifying flight purchases, and up to $100 toward Expensify purchases. Used well, these perks can more than offset the $200 annual fee.
The Anniversary Free Night can be used at a property costing up to 50,000 points per night, and you can top off the award with points from your IHG One Rewards account for a more expensive stay.
Important Note: The annual fee for this card increased from $99 to $200 for new cardholders on 10/1/26. If you already had the card before then, you'll keep paying $99 until your first card anniversary in 2027, when the $200 fee takes effect.
Update 9/26: We’re hearing Chase may be getting stricter about approving business cards. If you apply for Ink cards and Chase’s co-branded business cards (United, Southwest, Hyatt, and IHG) as a sole proprietor, you may need to have opened 2 or fewer new personal credit cards in the past 24 months to be approved, instead of the usual limit of fewer than 5. Chase hasn’t made this official, but reps have been citing the stricter limit since mid-September 2026. If you apply under an LLC, the normal rule still seems to apply.
